Friday night live at Transistor: Jim Baker and Joe Adamik with Jim Baker. Sound by Jon Monteverde.

Jim Baker has been playing piano and analog synthesizer in North America and Europe (though mostly in and around Chicago) for several decades, sometimes as soloist but mostly in groups. He plays almost every Monday at Beat Kitchen with the Extraordinary Popular Delusions (a group which also includes Mars Williams, Brian Sandstrom and Steve Hunt), and most every Thursday at MultiKulti with Vincent Davis's group (a group which also includes Edward Wilkerson Jr., Scott Hesse, Junius Paul and of course Vincent Davis). Jim has also played in groups led by or involving Fred Anderson, Ken Vandermark, Hal Russell, David Boykin, Rob Mazurek, Michael Zerang, Joshua Abrams, Avreeayl Ra, Damon Short, Josh Berman, Nick Mazzarella, Paul Hartsaw, and many others.

Also available: a previous Jim Baker recording (with Extraordinary Popular Delusions) from April 3, 2011.

Joe Adamik is a multi-instrumentalist performer and composer from Chicago. He plays with Iron & Wine, Califone, The Joe Adamik/Jim Becker Duo, The Bob Dogan Trio, oRso, The Judy Green as well as others.

On this night Joe debuted new compositions -- woodwinds, drums, electronics, more -- and was then joined on piano and synthesizer by Jim Baker (available as a separate recording above, listed as Joe Adamik & Jim Baker).

Also available: previous Joe Adamik Transistor recordings from:
June 24, 2011
April 3, 2011 (with Extraordinary Popular Delusions)
